To follow up and to clarify the press coverage over the last few days with regards to the exhumation of a body at Fenns Meadow by West Mercia Police.

The individual concerned was buried legally and correctly by a local funeral director in 2022 and Fenns Meadow was chosen by the family as the person's final resting place. As stated by the Police in the media coverage: "The activity at Fenns Meadow is unrelated to the burial ground in any way".

We have sadly had many concerning phone calls with regards to non-factual gossip and this saddens us greatly. Fenns Meadow follows strict national guidelines and we, as a small family business spend a great deal of our time on, around and in Fenns Meadow maintaining and monitoring the site as a whole.

The site is locked and access is only viable through a small Kissing Gate unless there is a funeral, when we monitor all activity on Fenns Meadow and have always done.

The exhumation was performed in very dry conditions by a professional Grave Digger, who knows the site. No other graves were harmed, touched or damaged by this work and great care was taken by all involved with this Police Operation.
